This is kinda long winded and I don’t suppose it really matters but here’s how I came across 20th Century Boys. To begin with, I hadn’t ever read a manga before, I was far too much of a literary snob to take any interest in them in spite of my avid interest in Japanese culture.
Much like the iPhone, I wasn’t quite convinced with Apple’s first attempt although I would still have described it as a ‘game-changer‘.
Akira belongs in my list of top ten films of all time, straddling somewhere near the very precipice, it’s certainly my favourite animation ever created.
