I carefully packed my XBox 360 to bring back home with me from Sheffield for some serious Easter gaming, carefully because I’m aware of how susceptible to failure Microsoft’s console is. I picked it up on the cheap, a promotion at GameStation to celebrate it’s opening in Sheffield. It meant queueing up from 5am but I did get it for half price!
As soon as I’d unpacked my things, I set up the 360 and switched it on. There isn’t any wi-fi in my flat in Sheffield so I wasn’t surprised to discover it required an update when it finally connected to our wireless connection at home. I let it download and restart and was puzzled that it required a further update so without much thought to it I let it go ahead…
It crashed minutes into the download and restarted to a blank screen with the red lights on the front of the console flashing. I’m now in the process of checking to see whether or not I’m eligable for a repair under the extended warranty. So much for my itch of having a play with Street Fighter IV!
